Good Week"60 and 62 Kodiaks
« on: May 18, 2011, 11:54:00 PM »
I have had a few nice vintage bows over the years and recently bought a 60" 42# 1962 kodiak (my birth year). This bow shoots superb and is a great looking bow.I really love it.Its very very clean with no stress, great tips, tight glue lines and beautiful woods in the riser.

I kinda got the vintage itch again after buying this 1962 and bought a 1960 Kodiak Special Deluxe here in the classifieds. It was the same poundeage as the 62 and 6 inches longer so i sprung on it.I just got the bow and its in superb condition and the clear glass looks great.Man are these beautiful bows!!!Its 66 inches and 42#s.I did shoot it a bit in spite of the history behind these bows. The former owner had shot it a bit off and on.It a real smooth bow and easy to shoot.Very pleasurable and sweet experience!I probably wont shoot it that much. But will take it out and exorcise the limbs and enjoy it from time to time. Its very accurate.

I have always like the old Bear bows for many reasons and these 2 are no exception.Sorry I cant post pics.I know guys like to see the bows.

Just thought I would share my good fortune.I have learned alot about vintage bows here over the years and appreciate the wealth of information provided by the aficionados lurking here. Thanks!

Eric,

Great additions! I also have a 66" 42# Special Deluxe shown with a 59 Kodiak Special left hand.

Yaa BD,the 66 incher really is a tack driver. It truelly is easy to shoot.
