Bear Mag grip ?
« on: May 23, 2011, 06:14:00 PM »
OK, I'm a big fan ,did the refinish and used double sided carpet tape for the grip. works OK in the cold but has been in the 80's and grip is slipping all over in the heat. What next? Barge cement, contact cement? I've never used either.thanks

I use Velcro in the palm area on my C Mag and it works great for me!! A thin strip between the mag riser and the grip!!

the heat seems to melt/soften the glue on the tape....does that not happen to the velcro?

I have a few of the Bear TD's.

The mag handle ones that require a grip were installed with contact cement when purchased new in the early to mid 1970's.

They have never moved in temps ranging from 110+ to 40- on the Fahrenheit scale.

I used some 2 part "plastic epoxy" from NAPA....working well in the 90+ heat ....don't know if I can remove the grip easy but it's staying in place now!
