I might have paid 1/4 of that for a really good year; obviously that guy wanted it way more than I would have.

I certainly understand how it can be to spend big money on Bear Archery collectibles,I'm as guilty as anyone, but usually it's for a rare, not too common, hard to find item. This one is not one of those. Why don't any of my Bear catalogs sell for upwards of $300.00 when I list them. This one just blew my mind.
If anyone needs a mint 1967 1/2 Bear catalog,I'll give 'em a great deal on one.$275.00 and I'll cover shipping!

Don't forget.....that actually took TWO folks to get it up that high! One to put a bid in close to that, then one to actually outbid the other dude.

It looked nice, but........   :scared:     I guess its:  When ya gotta have it, ya gotta have it!

Now, now. I was the one who bought the catalog. It was a mistake on my part along with modern technology. I tried bidding from my "Smart Phone" and my bid ended up well over $2000.I am just glad the other guy didn't bid any higher. I am going to suck it up and pay and not back out. If any of you out there need a real expensive Bear catalog I will sell it. LOL.

Copicasso- I hate to admit it,but you got me sitting here at my computer laughing, not AT you,but with you,if you are able to laugh about your mistake.I'm old school too and all this technology certainly leaves something to be desired. At least now it makes sense, except for the guy you outbid.Did he have a "smart" phone too? LOL
Sounds like something I would do.

Well, I've got one available for that second bidder!  But, I was criticized a decade or more ago for bidding what was then a pretty high price for this catalog.  I didn't think it was terrifically common then and still don't, given that it's only from the late 60s.  I've got a complete second set(48-74), but it's pretty much just sitting around gathering dust. Might have to try them one at a time on that auction site next winter, huh?

Well I guess everyone saw what that Gainesville 1980 catalog just sold for.  I will never understand that auction.  Some things go crazy expensive and a '64 Kodiak just barely brought $200.  No rhyme or reason behind any of it, just a roll of the dice of how it all turns out.

Wow, I haven't been following the auction site....these numbers are crazy.  Two '64 Kodiaks recently went for an avg of a grand each...and now one for less than two bills?  I agree, Mr. Kerley....that's why it is so much more satisfying talking with folks on this site.  At least they have a clue!

If you look at the bids it was really three guys that got it that high.  Apparently it was worth about that to two of them, then Copicasso had his tecnological feaux pas.

We always say things are worth what someone will pay for it.  At least two guys thought it was worth more than a 67.5 Bear Bow.
