Bear Ranger Bow

Can anyone tell me anything about these bows?  I only found that they were once used in archery programs and were numbered.

any other info out there?

I believe these were the lower line of wooden bows made by Bear at a time when Nels Grumley was making Bear's top bow.  They were made in the late 40's of lemonwood, but most likely not made by Nels but by Bear's other bowyers.  

Before 1948 they were marked in writing "Bear Products" and after that they had the running bear decal.

I believe you are refering to the early 60's models mostly made for schools and numbered. Some had numbers 1 thru 4 and were low poundage usually under 20 pounds. They varied with some having sights in the window and some not. Some had medallions and some not. There are also the somewhat rarer ones of the same time period that had flush silver medallions and were up to 50 pounds. recently a 48 pounder sold on e**** I purchased two dozen of them from a university years ago and have since sold them all. Most had combinations of light green and white glass.

I will see it for the first time again on Saturday.  From what I understand t has the decals and coin and is around 45 lbs and good condition.

I will probably have it up for sale at the trade blanket at Denton but know nothing about them.

it is 40 pounds and has decal but no coin, excellent shape. for being a lesser Bear bow it sure is a good looking bow.
