Bear Arrows
« on: October 12, 2011, 11:33:00 PM »
All the posts I've seen so far concern bows. Is there any interest in Bear arrows. I just opened a box that I bought from the Bear shop in Detroit back in high school, so it would probably have been 1956 to 1957. I got an old fiberglass bow at the same time and shot the daylights out of the bow, but the arrows were never shot. The bear 3-blade broadheads have never been shot or sharpened. The original receipt was in the box too, but I'm not going to tell you what I paid for them way back then.

Pictures?
Sometimes arrows are as interesting as the bows.

My eyes are starting to cross, but I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow. Think I bought half a dozen and they only had 5 Bear arrows and think there was another of a different brand. I'll take a closer look and try to get some decent pics in daylight.

Here are some pics of my old arrows. All are 29" to BOP. Since I draw 29 3/4 now, they don't do me a lot of good. They only had 5 of the ones I wanted, so they threw in 2 more and only charged me for one of them. Purchased 8-6-1956. Can you believe $8.81 for the bunch? They've been in the box since I bought them and every one is as straight as the day I bought them.

I can't use them. Too short. Nostalgia is fun, but my wife is complaining that I'm taking over the house. Any suggestions where I should price them if I list them in the classifieds here or on the auction site?

Ron,

Your arrows, the all orange arrows are Ben Pearson with a Hi Percision Broadhead and the others have the Hill's Hornet Broadheads all common heads. Thanks for sharing...Hink

I shot off 3 old Pearson arrows with Hill's Hornets a couple years ago at running Turkeys. Two different hunts, 2 different toms, 3 missing arrows...Ha! Ha! The old arrows fly straighter than I can shoot!

Pretty cool arrows.

If you use the search feature I think you'll find some very interesting threads dedicated to vintage and collectible arrows in this forum.
