Based on the info I received from Beth (bless her heart for putting up with all of my questions), Paul probably made anywhere from 80-100 bows per year. So based on this, I'm guessing he put up about 2500 bows...Just a rough estimate.I believe one of the last serial numbers from Paul was around 2024.

I have and hunt exclusively with a Paul Shafer original. 62" 63# at my 27 1/2 draw length. Fell in love with this bow the first time I ever hit full draw with it. I have never shot any smoother of a bow, it likes heavy arrows and hits with authority. Dead in the hand and I would put it up against any other in terms of quietness! Paul Shafer was way ahead of his time! Dave makes a beautiful bow but I personally like Paul's form much more. I have big hands and the grip just fits. Sure wish he was still around, but I can't imagine how he could ever make improvements on my bow, of course I am sure he would have tried! Rest in peace brother. Gary.

I agree with Tim and Sergio. I like Dave's newest risers the best.

I was in Montana a few years ago with my son and we stopped by the shop. Dave and Beth welcomed us into their home and we hung out for a while.  Great people!

Here are my Silvertips, the picture with the single bow was built by Paul:
