Sanders Oneida?
« on: March 01, 2012, 08:22:00 PM »
The Sanders target bow pics got me to thinking I could get some info on a bow I just brought for my daughter. It's a Sanders Oneida, 60" 25@28. It actually measures 33@28.
It has beautiful green glass on the belly and brown on the back.
I can send pics if someone could post them for me.
Any info on the bow would be great.

Nice looking bow, is it from the Fifties?

I am guessing mid 60's. I have a 1963 catalog and there were three models in 1963: Classic 68" any poundage up to 60# $92.00, Swift 64" or 68" any poundage up to 60# $82.00, Sportster 62" any weight up to 65# $78.00. I am guessing  it came after 1963 could be 64 or 65.

The guy I brought it from said 1955 and that it was original down to the leather on the grip.
He was the second owner.

I really can't tell from the pics but if the glass is the mesh type I would believe 50's, from what I see of the pics the glass looks more like 60's. Very possible it was prior to the 63 catalog that I have. Just trying to help.

The leather wrapped grip says fifties also. It may be a Sanders bow pre 1960's, again only trying to help.

I have no idea other than what I was told. The glass doesn't look like mesh to me so probably is 60's. I really appreciate your thoughts cause I really don't know.
I also have an old Groves bow that I want to post some pics of. The glass looks to have a weave or mesh look to it.

Thanks
Zane
