Nor can I, and the PM didn't open.

This listing (2510271320) has been removed, or this item is not available.

I found it as well (e***- Recurves).

According to CrookedStick's "A" riser registry:
"A-1493 - RH, had 3 holes in sight rail - via Bowdoc's ledger".

I don't see any holes (unless they are hidden behind what looks like a new strike plate and arrow rest).

The limbs offered are probably later than the riser as, again, I do not see any grooves in the fadeouts.

dabprice - you did exactly what I did.....go to Bernie's registry.

Someone should touch bases with Don to find out exactly what he did with it.

One thing's for sure....if it was in Don's ledger and he says it had 3 holes in it.....he worked on it.

It appears to have a matte-type of finish, like someone didn't like the shine and maybe took steelwool to it.

I filled him in on the history of the riser.  He's asked for some links so he can see for himself.

Bjorn - I agree.....Don usually put a smooth leather strikeplate on risers that needed the calf hair plate replaced....at least from what I've seen.  That strikeplate looked like it came from the big auction site!

The strike plate is probably a leather reproduction of the plate used on the '59 Kodiak and other Bear bows from the 60's.

Bear currently sells them as does 3R and others.

The seller of that bow is blocked from my buying list on the big site. Check out his feedback comments I say no more! I can tell you how he is as a buyer also, but the site doesn't allow for negatives to buyers.

Bjorn
Recently picked up a 59 strike plate from 3 R's and that is what they sent me. Very disappointing. Figured I would be better off just following Bd's 101 and making it myself!! At least I know the end result.......
Bill
That is a lucky riser you are fortunate to own!!
