I got this bow today....
« on: April 06, 2012, 08:42:00 AM »
from a guy at work. He brought it to me so I can (hopefully) get some info on it and to see if it can be repaired. It's a recurve, just over 58" ntn unstrung. The limbs are 1 3/8" wide from the fades to 5" from the tips, then tapering down. The lower tip is 7/16" wide and the upper is 9/16".  The riser looks like maple with a red hardwood (mahogany?, jatoba?) accent. The limbs have been painted black, but have the look and feel of glass. It has the numbers 40 and 60 stamped (!!!) into the riser and a logo that says Archery Craft Toronto. It also has a cast metal sight screwed onto the riser. I strung it up and it's just under 60" long, and it feels like a 40# draw. The upper limb is badly twisted when it's braced.
Has anyone ever seen a bow like this? can the twist be repaired? What would it be worth? (The owner asked because he might want to sell it)
Thanks for any info you can give.
