I got a Bear Greenie 70's Kodiak Hunter here a few months ago. Nice shooter, but one part of the riser glue line looked crystalised, about an inch and a half, along the stripe. No big deal, I guess the seller didn't know. Today, while shooting it, I noticed there was a small gap about 1/16th" under the crystalised glue, and could get a hypo needle into it easily. I guess it had been repaired before, or was a southern bow exposed to heat / humidity / time. I filled it with super glue, via hypo needle. I have used this trick with wood glue on cracked gun stocks. I'm hoping the super glue will bond the lams tight and keep out moisture. ???
So, should this Hunter be retired and just kept as a wall hanger? I don't want to bust it, but it is such a sweet shooter. Anyone encounter this issue before? Any advice?
