Picked up a B-Mag, camo question...
« on: May 17, 2012, 03:19:00 AM »
Hi all, I thought that I would share some pics of the B-Mag and accessories that I found recently.  It came with the original bow bag, 52lb. #2 (55, 52 & 47#) and 48lb. #3 (50, 48 & 43#) red tip limbs with bags, stabilizer, limb sleeves and the rest of the stuff in the picture except for my funky green glove that fits the bow so well.

I was wondering about the camo job, it looks homemade because the logos are covered on the limbs, would that be correct?

The riser is #B6765, any idea on a rough date?  It appears to be brown under the camo, no strut and gold medallion.

This is my first Bear t/d and I like it very much.  The screaming deal that I got doesn't hurt either...

Thank you for looking,

Brad

It all looks good to me. You nead an A riser now for the other set of limb. Have fun

Yes, It is 100% a homemade camo job. You can see where the limbs were installed in the riser and then the entire bow was sprayed. It appears that it would be somewhat easy to remove and hopefully the paint protected the original finish underneath. Chances are you will have a really clean bow when you remove the paint!

Thank you for the reponses.

I'd love to find an A riser someday Mr Bill, I didn't think that I'd like the bow as well as I do.

OldSkoolArcher, I suspected that it was a homebrew camo job, thank you for confirming. I am new to the takedowns and wanted to ask before I stripped it. I've used 100% acetone nail polish remover in the past on early bows but I'm afraid that it will damage the medallion and other plastics, is there another product that would work better on these areas?

Thanks again,

Brad
