Question about Fred Bear Bowhunter's Knive Kt
« on: June 18, 2012, 06:32:00 PM »
I have a Fred Bear Bowhunter's Kit in the box that my dad gave me. It has never been used.  Does anyone know what these are worth?

Here is a pic:

It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.  Check the big auction site.  Lots of them sold there. Can get an idea of what they sell for in different conditions.

Hi Mike!

Great First Post!

Can't wait to see what your dad turns up next!

Those go anywhere from a bit to a bunch, depends on who needs one.

Always glad to welcome another guy who loves the history of archery.

Original box even, that one's probably pushing the "bunch" end of the spectrum.

Here's an idea, you can use the search feature and learn all kinds of cool things about Bear Bowhunter Kits. Kit variations, the dates it was included in the Bear Archery catalog, name and make of each component, reproductions made by Tradgangers, etc,

One just sold for $325 and it was missing the box. Since this was your Dad's, I would hold on to it for awhile.

Back in May one was sold on the famous auction site that was never used but had no box. It sold at $500.00.

My father bowhunted in the 50's and bowhunted the year before he passed in 1996.

Somewhere along the way he took the time to drag me around with him, tolerated me spooking deer, helped me build stands to increase my odds, taught me about scouting, reading sign, helped me find arrows when I missed, bought my first camo clothes, helped me track and drag my first bow-kill.  That's just a few things he did for me.

He apparently never had a Bear Bowhunter's knife kit.  If he'd ever bought one, I'd have it and my 3 girls would have to fight for it when I'm done here on this side.

just sayin'

I'd hate to see you regret selling it down the road.  It's pretty cool and how you got it, is truly "the good stuff"

Better resize the picture before it gets taken away.
