Filling a small hole?

I have a really nice 59 Kodiak that was a display bow, with the 3 little nail holes. The bow is about a 9.5 out of 10, except for the top "nail hole". The bottom two are under the strike plate.

But the top hole is more of a bigger divet than a tiny nail hole. It's about 5mm at the longest and about 3mm at the widest and 1mm at the edges. It's maybe 1-2mm deep.

Now, I can and probably will just leave it alone, but the bow is otherwise so pretty, that I was wondering if there was an easy fix, without refinishing, which I don't want to do.

I tested a wood filler off to the side and the color isn't going to match.

However, I did see some wood putty that really matched the color. The problem is, evidently wood putty never hardens.

Being pretty small and along the edge, does it even matter if it never really hardens?

I'm just wondering, is there a colored putty that hardens over time? Is there a wood glue that would take a touch up pen?

I can certainly leave it as it, but when you pick up the bow, it's the thing your eye is drawn to.

Thanks in advance if anyone has a suggestion on a fix. Otherwise I'll leave it.

Could you just put a little larger strike plate on?

Well, I stopped over and saw Pack Animal today and he's gonna make it all better. LOL

Hopefully he'll do a before and after picture spread. Basically, he's going to refinish just around the sight window. Given his work he's done for me before, I know it'll be sweet.

That's what Pack Animal is going to do, he's going to refinish just the sight window for me.
It'll be worth it to get that purple heart to pop. Right now, the purple heart under where the strike plate was is purple and above it is brown. We were thinking it was a display bow in a smokey shop or it was in a sunny window.
