Phil- So nice to know someone is thinking about me.I haven't gone anywhere, still check out the threads here on the history/colecting forum pretty regularly.Just not a whole lot to say or share lately.I saw the one thread about the Bear take-downs and all those wonderful pictures were popping up on there including some of your unique "signature" bows.Thought of adding some of my pictures to the thread but I had already recently posted some pics of the same bows I have in the thread of those wonderful EXP,one-of-a-kind,etc... bows that I came across,so I have just been enjoying some of the other posts here.Things in the collecting world seem to be a little slow during the summer months as it usually is.I was out of commision for a short while due to some surgery(had my gall bladder removed)but all is fine now.Back to work, trying to catch up on funds so I can buy more goodies! Then I can post some more pics.I would like to get a nice pic of all of my risers together in one shot, then maybe I will add that one to the other thread.Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful, and HOT,summer.
Jim G.- With today's 100 degree plus weather here in Michigan, too hot for me to be beating any bushes. Those treasures will have to wait!
Rich- You are right too.Sometimes you can get a little burned out.A break from time to time is good, but I'm still enjoying the wonderful world of archery collecting and history.

Roy- That would be kinda fun.Just go around and take pics of some of my knick-knacks.I think we could all do that.I'll bet you've got some great stuff yourself that needs to be shared.
Thanks Larry.I enjoy all of your posts as well. The pictures I've seen of your Bear Products by Grumley deerslayer certainly pop into my head from time to time. What a great bow at a remarkeable price. Why can't I find any Grumleys like that!

Here's another one from the same time, different background. Some bows

I like the depth of that bow rack John. (and everything that's on it) That opens up a whole new perspective on possibilities for shortness of storage and display space.
I LIKE that a LOT......
More pics of all of the above Please!!!!!!!!!

Larry-  When I first made that bow rack many, many years ago,I thought I would never have enough bows to even come close to filling it.Each set of pegs will hold about 5 bows, maybe six if they're skinny. That rack has been in the same spot in my bowroom since I made it and I think it's a good spot for it.It's on the wall right behind my door. Now I can see that I could have made the pegs quite a bit longer without interfering with the door.It would probably be easier to just make another bowrack with longer pegs than to try to re-do this one. Then I could get alot of the bows I have stored on chairs,on the floor, under cabinets, under beds,on the bed in my daughter's room(only good thing about her moving out!)put away properly. It's a simple rack but I really like it.Most of the time it's full to capacity and bows are teetering on the rdge of the pegs.Sometimes when I try to grab a bow, usually up high where my short self can hardly reach it,I end up starting a domino effect with lumber crashing down all around me.I couldn't tell you how many times I woke the wife up out of a dead sleep late at night while I'm enjoying the mancave, with her running into the room screaming "WHAT HAPPENED! WHAT WAS THAT!".
Something else I need to work on I guess.  :dunno:

Simple but effective storage John! I was counting at least 35 bows being stored and as you stated perhaps a bit of expansion and then a small lip (to prevent the late night crash down of which I have also been guilty of, boy I do not like to put bang marks in bows) at the end might just get me what I need. Our home is very small by todays standards and my wife is very understanding of my hobby but on more then one occasion she has requested I relocate timber to other locations. So now I'm in the downstairs closet and primarily out in the garage. (Not a bad place to be!!)
Thanks for a Great Idea and Welcome Back....

Warberg- Thank you for the welcome home too.I don't think I could be considered a "collector legend",there are many with far bigger and better collections than mine, but thanks for putting me in some fine company.I think you are right,at least in my case. You suffer a little burn-out from time to time.I really enjoy posting when a topic interests me or if I pick up some "new" vintage, collectible item that I want to share with everyone.I don't have near the knowledge of many on here so I like to include pictures with my posts if possible as I know most guys are like myself and like to see the items and not just hear about them. After my last score of those EXP bows and the two brass bear risers,I haven't really picked up much of anything to speak of.Working an a few possible deals but nothing in hand as of now.
I think too, with it being summertime, more of us here are out doing things on these beautiful days instead of being holed up in front of the computer. It won't be long and everyone will be back on here.I'll see if I get a chance to get some pics of my mancave I'll post 'em up for some eye candy as I know I'm itching for some as much as anybody.Always enjoy everyone elses pics as well.
