Black Widow Bows Since 1957?
« on: August 27, 2012, 04:16:00 PM »
Alot of tradgangers collect and shoot vintage Bear Archery bows, old Wing and Ben Pearson bows. I own 2 vintage bear bows myself. Im wondering: if Black Widow bows have been around since 1957, where are the vintage bows? Never hear of any one talking about them or see them in the classified pages. Just wondering

X2, I love old bows in general, Just look an feel better than the newer factory bows being made. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with Buckeye. After spending just about $1,000.00 on "custom" made bows and finding out that they might be a little quicker I decided to stick with the older stuff.
It's just a certain feeling I get with an old Bear, Ben Pearson or Shakespeare etc. that I don't get with the so called modern bows.

I run into them very infrequently but when I do they are pricey. People I see at 3-D's shooting them speak very highly of their performance.
That is ONE NICE COLLECTION you have there Tom! Very Nice Indeed.......

Thanks, Larry.  Actually, there's one not shown in the pics.  Only 3 are below 50#, the Crown Jewell is 66#, and the rest range from 53-60#. Very hard to find in those weights.  I'm always on the hunt for these old WB Widows!

Yeah, I saw that.  In over 30 years of collecting bows, I've never seen a limb stressed where that one is.  That's enough to scare me away!

Here are 2 old Widows, target bows that is.
I dont own em, they belong to a man who has wealth of archery knowledge from Australia.
