That bow has some nice age patina. I definintly would not refinish it. A good scrubbing and some wax will do wonders. Good find for you!    :)

Thanks for the input guys and also all the nice words.

I wasn't as concerned with "refinishing" as I was about "protecting" it.

Ron,  If I can shoot it, I will hunt it!  from the feel of it in my hand, I am quite sure it will shoot just fine for me.

Just a heads up to Bear collectors.

I relisted a 1960 Deluxe for trade in the classifieds if interested.

Thanks in advance........Philip

OK, this thing cleaned up well. I had a rest from Trap that I put on.

It shoots good but was wondering if someone can recommend a starting brace height. I have it at 7 1/2 but think it needs more.

what works for others here?

Ok looks like through a search most people like a higher brace.

Between 8-8 1/2. I'll try that.

Charlie,

My '60 shoots best for me right at a hair under 8" - so I think you are in the ballpark - and with a little tweeking you will have a fine shooting (and of course looking) bow     :bigsmyl:

I have twin to that bow sort of.  I lent it to my nephew and his log home burned.  It didn't totally burn but its jet black and beyond repair. :^(
