Bear Springarm Bowquiver, Dates/Info???

I have a 1967 and a 1969 Bear Grizzly, and what I believe is a 1972 on it's way to me. I also know where there is another 72 for sale, it's only a matter of getting in contact with the owner, to get the deal done.

When I was a kid, Fred Bear was my hero!!! I had alot of Bear bows & accessories over the years, most are all gone now. Also, Due to family issues, most of the old family pictures are also gone... My youngest son Tyler, is my bowhunting buddy and a HUGE Fred Bear fan!!! I am in the process of aquireing a small "collection" of Bear bows and accessories. To hunt with now, and to pass on to my boys, when my final day comes and I'm off to the campfire in the sky.....

Can anyone give me some basic dates/info, to get approx accurate quivers, fishing reels, etc. for the bows I have. (and may aquire)

I know there were many differant types/styles of spring arm quivers, double arm/ single arm "converta" quivers,Brown/Green, 4 & 8 arrow etc.

If I can manage to get ahold of both 1972 Grizzlys, my plan is to set them both up for hunting & bow fishing, as they both have a stabilizer bushing. So, If I could... Probly a couple single arm, "Converta" quivers???

Any & All information and oppinions are welcome!!!!!

I cant give you the exact dates for all the models but if you do a search here you will pull up prolly all you need to know about that.Pretty sure any of the spring arms with the plastic hoods would be period correct for your 67 to 72 bears.I have a top spring arm with the bottom bolt on with convert adapter in the 8 arrow size that i have on a 72 kodiak hunter.They work real well but you will have to tinker with them a good bit to get it to be at the angle you want it and how close you want it to be to the riser.The spring arm has some adjustment and you can bend things to get it exactly like you like it.I had to add a piece of moleskin in one place to stop a rattle.If you are useing bear razor heads the 4 arrow may be ok with 4 arrows in it but the 8 arrow ones do not have a hood that is much bigger than the 4 but will allow you to get 4 arrows in where the cutting edges on your broadheads wont rub against something and dull them.Especially  if you use bigger heads like snuffers or Zwicky delta's.I think the is a bear spring arm here on the classifieds right now andthey are some for sale here fairly often.Raptor archery has a bear fishing reel right now too.Your 67 and 69 grizzlys more than likely dont have stabilizer bushings so they would need the double spring arm quivers.The double spring ones i think came in three diffrent set ups for the springs, not sure witch size fits a grizzly the best.

It sounds like we have a lot of the same ideas about a little bear collection to shoot and leave for the kids.I have been wondering what some of the older bear shooting gloves and arm gaurds look like in case i run across them.I know there are better gloves to use nowdays and i dont even use an arm guard but would like to have some of the old ones to hang with my bears on the wall rack just for looks.

They are hard to date. The Bear Archery catalog CD has the same picture for a few years. I have one that I put on my '69 Kodiak Hunter. I think they make a lot of noise. I found out through looking at the CD catalog that there were 2 different lengths. I tried it on my K-Mag before I bought the hunter and it looked crooked. That's because it was for a longer bow.
