Pearson Signature Takedown
« on: July 12, 2013, 04:08:00 PM »
I just acquired a sweet Pearson Signature Takedown, with original case and tags... however the arrow rest seemed newer, synthetic, and came right off - under it was the bare metal of the interlocking mechanism.

Does anyone know what type of rest originally came on these bows? Or if there was a rest at all?

thanks!

Mine has a thin rug over the shelf.

hmm ok - it looks similar, but the rug i removed was not rectangular - and did not cover the entire shelf at all. But the side plate looks the same!

Mine has a thin rug also, but I use an elevated rest and really like the arrow flite better with it.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

I've seen some that had a half-circle rug.

I had one that was tucked away for years. Only had a half round leather black strike plate and was shot off metal shelf as with most I have seen

I love my 7330. 50# @ 28" Sweet shooter. However, there is a whole lot of shelf there. I put a thin (1/8" thick) piece of leather centered above the deepest part of the riser grip under the thin rug rest. Put same behind side plate and ran it down to the shelf leather. It tuned beautifully for me. It appears Phil did same with his; and, from catalog photos I've seen, his rest and sideplate looks pretty much like the original. Like mentioned above also, without that screw...you're out of business. Congrats on your find!

Thanks!
Fortunately the screw is intact, as is the bow. Looking forward to shooting it, hasn't had much use it appears.
I will try a rug rest. The one that came loose was semi circle rest.
