Alright Kenny now that the shelf is on the right side send it here to NM.    :biglaugh:
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Here she is,DONE. Don't like black glass, sooo I painted her with flat textured enamel, just the glass, looks rather unique, the flash kinda overpowers the paint(really kinda coyote colored),was gonna camo paint but just gonna leave it for now.   :)      :p

Galen,if the shelf was on that side,I'd have ta send her somewhere!!  :wavey:

Checked this bow's speeds with a buddys chrono, not that I worry bout it,but can these possibly be right???

Finished bow-62",58#@ 28"(my draw lenght +/- a fuzz)

507.5 grn carbon (8.75 grn per #) -199,198,196,197,200 for an av. of 198fps(couple shots at exactly 28" showed 198)

same arra with 193 grns of air tubing stuffed in it for total weight of 700.5grns--(12.08 gpp)-

175,180,174,170,173for an avg. of 174fps(couple measured at zactly 28" showed 175fps)

Does this sound anything like right or do I need to find another chrony to compare to???  :knothead:

Thanks for any input!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Sounds like that R/D is doing a good job for you. Those are good speeds. Now you got to try it on Water Buffalo. How is it in the noise catagory now? I swear by the hush puppies. All in all I'd say you got a good bow there.
   Have a ball with it...............Chort

1. gotta love that velcro Kenny,2.Black glass is my favorite.3 If your chrono's correct you've got a loy of bowyers nervous.Like I said at my earlier post if you grow tired of this bow shoot me an e-mail.Oh and at my 27"s she should be around 55#s? Outstanding!

Thanks guys, may still camo her a bit. I can't believe these speeds are possible in a bow I built, but I got a neighbor who reloads,he has a 2 year old chrony, may have to pay him a visit. With the velcro and catwhiskers(like em cause weedseeds don't stick),she's real quiet too.Cant wat to hunt somethin with it,thats  my favorite test for penetration. Can't afford or run fast enough for Buff!!  :scared:

Wow, would be very interested in your findings with the other chrony, Kenny.  Never have seen 12gpp performance like that!

Nice looking RD...how much reflex and deflex is in it? Probably very min hand vibrations? Any chance you could post a pic of unstrung profile?

Just to verify (I'm thinking about making one like this)... if you lay unstrung on flat surface with belly down..what's it measure from surface to back in grip area for D, and surface to string groove for R?

Hope you didn't post this already...forgive me if you did, but did you use parallel or tapered lams and how long of riser?  thanks!

Ken ?'s in order--3 1/8", 3 3/8" , 3 paralells and 1 taper(.002" per inch) , 17" riser

(.340" total lam and glass thickness = 58# on 62" bow ,limbs are fairly skinny,7/16" at nock).

Also made an increasing radius on the limbs, growing tighter toward the tips like a recurve.........   :wavey:

I'll try to get the other chrony shot thru soon.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

OK folks,I thought those #'s were way too fast, heres what chrony # 2 said-

700 grn arra -153fps

507 grn arra-175fps

I was hopin for a little more than this, but since theres a difference of that much between the two,I've found another one at a bowshop opening back up near here,so I'll find out which one is right if either???

Thanks for the info, Kenny.  So how's it compare in cast to your senses with some other hard hitting bows you've shot?

Seems faster Ken,but I've only been able to shoot it bout 8 yds so far. Just too cold to go out and really put her thru her paces at any distance. That and my plate has been FULL lately! Next weekend is supposed to be a little warmer,so maybe a stand removal, bow shootin, shed hunt will be in order. May try to hit the other chrony next Fri. too.......

Kenny, looks like you have another solid design.  175 fps with a finger release sounds pretty darn good to me.  Anyway, if you get a chance I'd be interested to hear how this form is different from the old one.  Oh, and from the trail pic's you've been posting it looks like you may have to hold off on the shed hunting for awhile yet.

OK,another run of numbers-Made a D97 string,14 strand.

700 grn arra-160 fps average at measured 28" draw

507 grn arra-184 fps at measured 28" draw

Thats 7-9 fps by changin strings,on the down side, now my arras are too limber!! No diff in noise either, will check again when the arras are tuned properly.

What does all this mean? Pretty much nothin, but dang its interesting!!
Stay sharp, Kenny.
