Dating a Bear

Occasionally I go out with a nice little Kodiak Magnum who won't tell me her age, so I'm hoping that some of you knowledgeable folks can tell me when she was born.  Serial number is KU42984 and she is 65# @ 28".  I suspect the vintage is 70's, but would like to get closer if possible.

You're probably close with the 70s guess if not dead on. What color is she, green with blue accent layer? Silver/chrome medallion raised above the surface (i.e.-not flush) of the riser?

The K series of serial numbers started in the early 70s IIRC.
