Interesting Bear Item
« on: November 26, 2013, 10:01:00 AM »
I got this lamp from the owner of my lease property.  I have little history on it other than it came from a guy who lived in Branch County, MI and he got it from someone at the Bear factory.

I was hoping someone could give me some info on the bows based on the pics and serial numbers.  I'm guessing Tamarlanes, but I'm not positive.

Pretty cool item though!

By the serial number they are 1965 and the risers appear to be Tamerlanes.  69" would lend itself to a Tamerlane although 48# seems to be a bit heavy for a tournament bow.

The one on the bottom looks like a Polar.

Just my guesses.  I'm sure someone will pop in and set me straight.

Yeah, I'm in the middle of refinishing my basement and the lamp will be coming out of storage!

Very cool!
Yep, 1965 and they do look like Tamerlanes on the uprights.

I had a 50# Temujin so the weight doesn't seem un realistic to me. Cool lamp

I have seen full floor lamps made from dogleg Kodiaks (full length).  The limbs had holes drilled in them so that they wouldn't be shot.
