Bear Greenie Grizzly
« on: January 09, 2014, 09:50:00 AM »
Just wanted to share my old Greenie Bow with you all.  I purchased this bow several years ago and it was in such good shape I didn't want to shoot it.  Then I had a buddy who wanted to get into trad bows so I knocked the dust off and put a string on it and loaned it to him.  I've since put a Lefties R Us string on it, have tuned it up and have been shooting it a bit recently and was blown away at how smooth, quiet and accurate this old bow is!  I may have to bench my Acadian for the rest of the season and take this classic to the woods with me to finish off our Louisiana Deer Season!  Here are a few pics!

Great bows that were made to hunt and are very good at it.  It does look like it may have black glass which I don't think was as common as the brown

Brown is the most common, and think I have never seen black glass on those.  The last two pics appear to be brown, but ???

It seems like every day there's a new variation pop up.  So sorry for the "expert" writing a book about Bear bows and variations.

Stickslinger,That is a nice bow. I think they shoot well too. Being marked 45X, would that make it a 46lb bow?

I have a 56" 53lb & KR27656 Grizzly that I got a Grouse with last Elk season. I'm not sure of the year, I think 1970?
I like them.

Very nice! I still have the 73# custom Grizzly that Fred Gave to Ben Lee. I actually sent it away in a trade, and it came back to me a few weeks later in another trade. I guess it was meant to be.

Wow 73lb, Congratulations on getting it back.

Don't let it go again?

I'm getting to be a fan of the Grizzlys.

I bought a '66 off the classifieds just before Christmas and I love it!
It's in excellent condition and I'm shooting very well (for me) with it. It has Grey Glass and will be hunting this Fall. I may buy another one as a backup, most of the old Grizzlies don't break the bank.
