I.D. please, Deathmaster???
« on: January 27, 2014, 06:45:00 PM »
High everybody, I was hoping some one could clear this up for me. I traded my compound (08 Bear Element) to a buddy for his dads old recurve. It says deathmaster II on the limb and, 60"-62# @ 28" D2110, on the riser.  I googled it and found a little info about the savage deathmaster but nothing about "Deathmaster II" Any body know anything about these?

I think it certainly has the shape of the SD, but....   :dunno:

I've heard so much great things about the SD, but the only ones I find for sale are 60# or more.

You might go over to Stickbow's "***********" and pose your question.  There's a fellow there often who goes by "Frisky" that is the resident fan and expert on these bows.  (He may even lurk around here too.)

Keep us posted.

I posted it at the leather wall forum and Frisky thinks it looks like one, but he's never seen one with tip overlays and the deathmaster II printed on the limb. He's going to talk to Bob Savage this weekend to get some info. He thinks it might be one that Owen Jeffery built and sold after He and Bob parted ways.

That's my best guess too. Frisky should be able to find out.

I haven't shot it yet.  I need to get some arrows and a correct length string.  My buddy let my boss use it and he put a longer string on it to try and bring the draw weight down so his son could take some archery lessons... it was still way too heavy for him.  I measured the brace with this string at 5".  I have a 56" string on the way but I'll hafta hold off for a week before I can get some arrows.

I'm gonna try again to get ahold of Bob and will ask. It does appear to be a Rocky Miller bow.
