MY Gen 1 T Bird is Here
« on: February 13, 2014, 02:36:00 PM »
It is a 66" bow 50#, scales just over and shoots awesome.
There were 300 Gen 1 T Birds and 20% were the longer bow.

Flanked by two Gen 2 Bows which are 3 in shorter

The extra length is in the riser and limbs

Gonna take it hunting

I have a bunch of  Broadheads made by the Dude

I almost forgot the sticker-put it on tonight

All I need now is a cooperative Elk!   :bigsmyl:

The bow had been 'customized' by a long ago prior owner-made into a single sided shooter with a thumb rest on the other side. A lot was done with wood putty. Don't have a good pic but this will give you an idea

The only person I felt could resurrect the bow as original was of course Jay St. Charles, and fortunately he was willing to take on the project.

Awesome outfit there Bjorn, love those T-birds. Thanks for posting.  I know Jay can still be persuaded to build a Thunderbird. I've always keep an eye open for a Gen II signed by Glenn. I don't remember when I last saw an original Thunderbird for sale, those are rarer than a collection of Fred Bear toenail clippings from the Little Delta hunt....
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

Hi Bjorn, your T Bird looks outstanding!  Jay did a great job on that bow.

Are you going to use some of the woven glass shafts that Glenn liked or did they come out later?

I can't wait to see some bloody pics of that set up, it's going to be great.

Jay will build a TBird in both lengths if you ask nicely.  The riser is the same length in both bows.
I will have Suzanne make the arrows in colors that her dad used. She has some great cedar shafting.
Hey Hobow how about posting a pic of your famous Gen 1 TBird-it is the best one I have seen.

You mean this old thing?    ;)   I got real lucky on that one!

Gosh, I need to get some better pics...

I'm glad that your bow is done and came out so well Bjorn.  It would be neat if Jay could build some Gen II TBirds using some of the old glass colors.
