Added to my collection recently

Ok, so I don't have much of a collection, but it sounds good.     ;)

An older friend of mine has been diagnosed with a pretty bad cancer and so after years of us talking archery, he asked if I would be interested in buying his gear.  I knew what some of his better bows were and so I asked several of the collectors on here about approximate values.  I know that my friend is trying to collect money for his wife and so I wanted to make sure I offered him a fair price and didn't low ball him.  We were able to finally get together recently and so I thought I would share some pictures.

This first one is of the bows.

They include from top to bottom:
1968 Bear Super Kodiak 64" and 51# plus original case
Bear Tartar in kind of rough shape
Zebrawood Little Bear
C handle takedown with sight, one set of limbs, stabilizer, and case.
B handle takedown with leather top quiver, two sets of limbs, and case.

The heavier set of limbs is only 48# on the B handle and so I'm going to try to find a heavier set that I can use while hunting this fall.  I happened to draw a once in a lifetime bull moose permit this year here where I live, and I would really like to use the B handle and thus take my friend with me.

Next is a picture of all of the miscellaneous stuff that he had.

There are probably six dozen arrows total with most of them in pretty rough shape.  A lot of them are very skinny aluminum and I think they are xx75 but am not sure.  There are also quite a few old woodies include some target arrows that are barrel tapered to pretty tiny points at each end.  Also included are two solid fiberglass arrows I think.  They are on the far right in the pic and kind of remind me of fish arrows.

It's kind of hard to see what all the other stuff is but it includes nocks, field points, blunts, judos, a couple of stringers, a aluminum arm guard, an arrow straightener, an old bear side plate in original packaging,a shooting glove, plus other odds and ends.

And finally, here are the broadheads that he had:

A couple of different types but it's a good thing that I like Bear greenies and Zwickeys.    :)

At one point in his life, my friend and his brother owned an archery shop and he thinks he may have a few more things tucked away.  If he finds anything else, he's planning on passing it along also so there may be more to add in the future.

Thanks for looking.

The aluminum arrows are probably faintly marked SRT. Ok but they bend easy. Nice lot of stuff there.

There would be a lot of Bear collectors who would be pretty happy to have either one of those takedowns...for me the story behind collectibles is often the most important...consider working with your friend to record some of the history of those bows...somehow because of their size hunters get the idea moose are tough to kill...compound hunters here use their whitetail gear quite successfully...unless you have a short draw length those 48 pound limbs are more than enough for moose

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42
