Super kodiak year built
« on: September 25, 2014, 04:27:00 PM »
I have just acquired a super kodiak blue stripe. The serial starts with K so I know it's a 70's but that's all I know. Thanks for any info.

I believe the blue stripers were made in 1975-76 and were the last of the Grayling SK's.  They are just as good as any made then and since.  The grip is great and the speed is impressive.

We have some "experts" that visit here who can determine exact year with a bit more info...such as overlays description on back of riser or even tip color, etc.

My understanding is the '75 blue striper had white as one of the colors on the riser overlay while the '76 was gray and blue on back of the riser.

Thanks, that was what I was hoping for. I have a super griz red stripe I knew was a 74, my dad purchased it the year I was born.

I think Lon has it correctly...my 1976 has the same colour overlays on the back of the bow

The blue stripers were 75 and 76. The 75's still had the white overlays. The 76's had blue, like pictured above.
