So I bought a Drake... And have some questions???
« on: October 25, 2014, 03:01:00 PM »
I was able to buy a Drake today, the price seemed good even though the pictures weren't great and I have a lot of questions. I figured jump on it ...

It is only stamped with a number ..... 3655

My questions ..

It must have been tapped  for a quiver after production It seems?

The owner says it measures 49" tip to tip... That seems very short. Does that make it a "flight bow" ? I don't know anything about them.

The bow has green glass on the front and brown on the belly. Looks like dark green 'Micarta tips'

Any info or thoughts would be appreciated..... Thanks

I measured my bear leathertip and it is about 10", and this bow
Looks to be about 4.5 quivers long. So maybe it is around 45"

No that does not make it flight bow; generally flight bows have an extra long shelf. Looks like a genuine hunting set up. No Idea about the meaning behind the number. I'd say the length you measured is correct-and confirmed by the tiles?
When you measure the bow NTN and around the curve you will have a bigger number-a 52" Bear Magnum is 46" tip to tip. And 52"ntn measured the entire length. Very good looking bow! Drake made some fine shooters.

Thanks bjorn.. That makes me more excited for it to arrive for sure. I have no idea what the weight is or anything else about it. Hoping it all works out to be usable for me... Any idea on year ?

Why weren't the weights printed on many of the Drake bows

The Hunter-Flight model came in 54" and could be ordered in any poundage.

You guys nailed it!! It was delivered yesterday, it is 54" and took a 50" string perfectly.

What a cool little bow. It fees right around 43# based off of drawing it vs. a bunch of other bows.

I will post pictures. It is on ok condition, but has some problem spots and really could use a refinish. I draw 29"  and this bow has no problem at all. Can't wait to get out and shoot it
