A Very Helle X-mas
«

Decided to try my hand at kife building and make some Christmas presents. This is what I have came up with. Still have to finish the sheaths for the last three but they should be ready to wrap by the middle of the week.

Well after getting some info from my fellow tradgangers, thanks Shell, I finished up my neck knife sheath. I co-worker made the bead pattern for me. I think I will take it out tommorow and see if I can't get some blood on it. Merry Christmas everyone.

Nice job,SWP. Is that cocobolo that you alternated with the osage?
I made a Christmas present for my Goddaughter using the Helle Odel and part of an antler from a deer I killed a couple of years ago. I braintanned the hide and covered a leather sheath with some of the hide. Here is how that one came out:

The handle is osage and rosewood. George, I love that antler handle! I am afraid that this little knife building experiment is going to make me want to keep trying my hand at it, I may make Mike and Jason's frequent customer list if I am not careful.

Scott--I am an addict, having done about a dozen now. I got my first from Bob, then Chad, now Mike and Jason--great guys, all.
Those Helle knives are so sharp I keep cutting my shadow with them.
Merry Christmas and thanks for the beautiful, inspiring photos...
