Schafer Silvertip Dating
« on: January 19, 2016, 10:48:00 AM »
Hi guys! I have been trying my best to try and date some older Schafer Silvertips as well as get some general background history on them.

I came across a post from Tim back in 2007 and he obtained some good info from Beth, but the picture is no longer available. I hate to bug Beth with more emails, haha.

From what was posted, their records on serial numbers only go back to #400 or so. How many bows do you suppose Paul was making per year?

As a hunter and admirer of bows, it always interests me to know when a bow was made and what maybe was going on during the time it was made.

Also, keep an eye out for an upcoming book on the life of Paul written by his dad. The book has been in the works a long time and may not come forth for still a while.

Sorry I cannot help on numbers.

BTW, have you tried to email the Wensels? ,
Lon Scott
