Was looking for a 62 Grizzly and brought home this
« on: March 17, 2017, 07:26:00 PM »
Had been talking to a local guy who had a few bows.  He has a 62 Grizzly but we couldn't come to terms, then he offered up this.

I probably paid a little to much but it is very clean.  1969 60" 55#.  Was the same money as the Grizzly.  I'll keep trying to talk him down.

Sharp bow. Looks as clean as a hound's tooth.

The 1967, 1968 & 1969 Super Kodiaks are all great looking and nice shooting bows.

The Super K was by far the better option over the 62 Grizzly.

As Mr Phillips states above, not only "great looking but nice shooting". Yours is by far one of the nicest I've seen, There was also a 64" option. Nice in the hand and smooth in draw!

Thanks for the kind words.  When the PO pulled it out of the case and said he had it for 20 years and never strung it I was trying not to show any emotion.  I payed a lot less than a new repop so maybe I did OK.

Just shot the bow.  I like it quite a bit.  Very smooth and quite accurate.

I love the old super kodiaks. That one you have is real pretty. It is amazing when I shoot my old super kodiaks how well they shoot compared to my newer bows. By far my favorites in my collection. Nice find

The first three years of the Super Kodiaks were great bows and real beauties.

Then in 1970, when the riser was changed to plywood, the once real beauty became just another beast.

I'm pretty much a Kodiak guy, but like the first three years of the Super Kodiaks much more than I like the last three years of the Kodiaks.

Tony, The center bow is a 55# 1968, older brother to your 55# 1969...
