Black Widow Archery Hard Case Vintage
« on: April 02, 2017, 03:25:00 PM »
I have a vintage Black Widow Bow hard case that I would be interested in find out how much it is worth.  It is 39" x 17"x 7".   The outside is covered in a black vinyl?? with metal corner protectors.  It has three closing locks that work and amazingly it still has the key!  It also has the leatherette BW name /address tag on the outside handle.  The inside has a foam interior that is set up for 1 takedown bow riser and two sets of limbs.  It also has a place for a bow quiver.  In the one corner is a Black Widow cedar box for accessories.  Woodburned in the lid of this box is the black Widow emblem.  The inside top of the box has 3 foam inserts for holding arrows.  In total it will hold 26 arrows.

Any thoughts on time frame when these were made and what it is worth?  Thanks!

I bought a used BW a few years ago and it was shipped in the box you describe.  Unfortunately, the price to ship one of those is probably near the value of the box itself.

If you want another of these, I have one cluttering up my room.

That is too funny!  They are a big case.  Kind of neat, though!

I remember the exact case you're talking about...they had it in their 1994/1995 catalog.  I wanted a Black Widow MAIII back in high school so badly and wanted that case for it.  It's a beautiful case, but I think the newer Pelican cases offer a better alternative.  That being said, it's a great piece of Black Widow history for a vintage MAII or MAIII.
