What bow is this. ??
« on: July 15, 2017, 01:02:00 PM »
Picked this bow up this morning off CL. No markings other than #54 and the orange looking arrow painted on the lower limb. Put the string off my 60 inch 57 Kodiak on it. Gave me an 8 inch brace height which may be a tad high.  It has no tip overlays has an orange/brown glass on the belly and a black glass on the back. The glass is  black but I can see through it so not completely black.  Bow has a really small grip and great profile. Shot it a few times, shoots pretty good. I honestly expected it to be a slug but it shoots really well.  The guy I bought it from said he had owned it for at least 30 years.
It's a cool little bow. Any info on who might be the manufacturer and how old it is would be appreciated. Also is 8 inches too high for the brace height?
Will try to post some pics.

The bow is a Conolon Missilite.

Wadde, thanks for the reply, did some looking and believe you are correct. Looks like it may be from the late 50s or early 60s. The grip does look like it was originally wrapped. Do you know if that would have been with a solid peice of leather or wrapped with a strip. Guy bought it from said he bought it about 30 years ago to bow fish with so he may have removed the leather grip, don't imagine that bow fishing and leather grips work real well together. He gave me the reel which is a tape on deal, no name or markings on it either.

As I recall, they had a wrapped grip like a tennis racquet. Neat bow.
