Bob Lee Thunderbolt. What years made?
« on: December 29, 2017, 03:05:00 PM »
Don't see these bows come up for sale to often. Was wondering if it is because of limited production, or if shooters just hold on to them when they get there hands on them. Want to see what Trad Gang shooters think of this bow if they own or have owned it. Pics of your bows would be great

Back in 2002 I had the opportunity to shoot/buy one of these bows from an individual in the club we are members of. It shot extremely well and almost bought it, but ended up ordering a Bob Lee Classic takedown instead because it would be much easier to transport we going on hunting trips. Looking back, I now wish I would have bought this bow also as, like you said, you do not see these up for sale very often. If you want to know the actual years these bows were produced, I would give Bob Lee bows a call......they are very nice people to talk to.

I was shooting mine once and set it down on the bench to get my arrows. Then heard something and the bow delaminated before my eyes! I was able to find someone to re-limb the bow. I forgot to answer the original question. I believe they were only produced for a few years, around 2000, and they came in phenolic and laminated wood risers.
