God's got a job for us
« on: July 29, 2006, 09:06:00 AM »
I was awakened at 3AM this morning by a horrible dream/vision of a boy trapped in the trunk of a car by some sex pervert. The terror was so real I had to get up I couldn't stand it. I started praying for him and for myself because it was so bad I wanted God to make it stop but every time I closed my eyes I'd be right there in and with him feeling that terror. Finally I said to God if you don't give me the power to do something about this don't show it to me anymore and the thought to tell you guys here on TradGand came to me and the vision stopped. So guys God's got work for us. We need to pray for the protection and deliverance of children from those who are sexual perverts. Now the tough part He also impressed on me to pray for the perverts. I said I'd rather put a bullet between their legs and then one between their eyes but He said "Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good. Hate the sin, Love the sinner. Pray them to me and let me set them free." So ladies and gentleman of TradGang there's your challenge. Please get as many people as you can invoved. Thank You.

It would also be hard for me to pray for those perverts but if is the LORDS will I would do my best to obey his words.  Our LORD loves everyone.

Dave I can relate. He's helping me see it like cancer. We hate cancer not the individual with it. It's still a hard stretch to accept that.

Amazing how God works through such things as this forum... and your words hit me like a hammer.  Good analogy about cancer...

It is an illness and I suspect those in it's grasp can feel powerless.

"Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good. Hate the sin, Love the sinner. Pray them to me and let me set them free."

Wow...there is a full time job while I seek out work!

I've been reminded of this by the Bennet case.

It's hard to say prayers for people or things we don't like, or are controversial, like the homosexuals, the poor, the people with aids, until maybe we have a family member with the unpopular afflictions, it shouldn't take that to make us pray for and help others, Jesus ate with lepers, prostitutes, and tax collectors, he didn't discriminate against anyone. He wants us to be like him, pray for everyone, even the sick in mind. Thanks for challenging all of us that are christians

The lord has told us to pray for the sinners. Who are they? Do sins have rank like bad, worse and terrible. It is up to each of us to pray for our own forgiveness. As hard as it is for us to do ,we must also pray for all mankind. This includes the pervert, rapist child molester and all other types of deviates. I personally find this extremely hard to do. Pray for guidance is all one can do.

I have recently been doing reading that the 10 commandments weren't rank ordered. Sin is sin.

As mortals, and Christians, we tend to like to rank order our sins.  "Well, I may ____ but at least I'm not like so and so who does _____!

I'm not sure God sees it that way...little white lie or grandiose debauchery.

"Lord, Forgive us as we forgive others..."

I'm not even close...but it weighs on me that I sure hope God is more forgiving than I in my own heart...

I've become more and more convicted that indeed, that is MY challenge...to become more forgiving of all things so that I might become more like Christ and in the process, find more forgiveness for my own sinful nature.

Reminds me of an old saying,

There are 2 sides on every coin, which ever way we toss it, it is still a coin. Therefore if one has gone over to the other side we must pray for them since God still loves them and they are our brothers/sisters and we must abide in Gods' will. Its hard I know, but we can't do it on our own for its Gods' grace that gives us the peace and compassion. ie. Paul the apostle - he did a 180 to the right path but only with the love of God.

God Bless Ya All
