Depressed and Worried (Down in the valley)!
« on: September 14, 2006, 04:34:00 AM »
Howdy you'ens;

Don't mean to bother nobody, but I'm feeling a little low right now and thought maybe you all could possibly keep in mind when you pray?

First of all I'd like to mention that I have some health problems that have been playing on my mind. They are quiet severe and I have trouble talking to my family(don't want to scare or worry them to much).

See the thing is I Have a chronic liver disease, that I accrued from bad blood; following an operation about 20 years ago;and its really starting to concern me a lot. I have a wonderful wife and to beautiful children, and I worry about them being alone if and when I pass away.

I am a christian, and I know God loves me and my family, but the thought of leaving them horrifies me!  We rent and have no home because of medical bills and other financial problems that arose when I began treatment and therapy.

I would really like to be able for us to find a small farm to purchase. My wife works really hard and takes really good care of us, but bless her heart with all of the financial problems we've accumulated it's going to be hard.  I wish I could say I'd be around to help, but maybe God has other plans.

If you all could pray for me and my family I'd really appreciate it sincerely. Maybe with your prayers and our hard work maybe my wife will be able to afford a place of our own.

                         God Bless and Love !

Holler Critter,
Keep the faith my friend, a year and a half ago I was you, Health problems had almost destroyed our family, my wife was working very, very hard to keep us afloat, I was so depressed not being able to work, that it affected our whole family, and then when I thought nothing could get worse... it did, we lost our 23 year old son to a drunk driver 3 weeks after he came home from Iraq,I was lost in deep despair, didn't want to live this "crappy" life anymore, so I made my own gun , waited till everyone was gone, went out back, and contemplated the life I was about to leave, and for some reason that I can only believe was divine intervention,I was drawn back into our house, to a spot where I kept our old kodiak bow, I hadn't touched that old bow in 5 years, but I grabbed it and some arrows and went back outside, well when my family returned an hour or so later I was still outside shooting that old bow, smiling, enjoying, my family just stood there watching, I didn't see them at first, but when I did ,my wife had tears streaming down her face, and said "your back", she knew that in the short time that they were gone that "my" life had changed, 4 days later I visited my cousin who lived 25 miles away, he wanted to show me something, we drove a few miles down the road to a property with a for sale sign, overgrown and unkept with the biggest trees you ever saw, and as we walked around the back, we saw a garage , a pond, a creek, this place was beautiful!,I had dreamed of a place just like this all my life, that day my family and I went to the realtor, they wanted $49.000,there's no way we could afford that, but we offered them 30, the next morning we got a call...... our offer was accepted... we had a home! and it was ours!! I tell you this not for sympathy, but to let you know that tomorrow is another day and we know not what it holds for us, the littlest things can change our lives,God speaks to us every day we just have to listen, I will pray for you and you family my friend, just look for the silver lining, it's there, it's always there................God Bless,Steve

I will place you on our prayer list.  Keep your faith and hang in.

Praying for God to make your soul prosper so this biblical prayer is true in your life. "May you be in health and prosper as your soul prospers"
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Holler, it's in the Lords hands, but that doesn't make it at all easy, depression is an easy place to find yourself in, I'll pray for you, I've also been through the illness/financial issue, two times with severe pancreatitis, diabetes, severe problems with triglycerides that combine to put me in the hospital. The bills pile up, and recently I quit a good paying job that was causing lots of depression and health issues but, 2 days ago got news of a new job. So things are gonna come around. It's hard to keep the emotions together, even when you're strong in faith. I'm glad we can help by praying for you and your family. It's not much, but maybe it is, God wants us to praise him, and in return he blesses us with good fortune, good health, and other graces. I'm praying he has something good in store for you. God bless and take care

Kinda struck close to home when I read this HOller Critter, so I sent you an email instead.

It's hard to keep the shinny side up at times, but the Lord never provides more than he gives us stength to handle...but He never said we'd like the trip!  :)

Trick might be in learning that there is plenty of tough times in life, but that we're never, never alone. Our Lord walks with us each and every step..if we but are quiet enough to feel his strength and presence.

Blessings to you and your family through these trying times.
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!
