I just got a new ACS-CX a couple weeks ago.   I went with the aluminum riser - even though I much prefer the looks of the wood.   I personally tend develop a little bit of a sensitive elbow and shoulder from a lot of shooting.  So I chose the aluminum because its much heavier than the wood,  and tends to absorb more of the bow shock.   I find its more pleasant to shoot,  even though it doesn't look as nice.
