Helping troubled teens
« on: February 27, 2008, 06:40:00 PM »
In need of anything archery related. Especially bows suitable for youth from 13-17 yrs. We are a Christian organization working with troubled teens and are trying to get an archery program started. Our funds are very limited. We are looking for items that can be donated. We will take any type of bow regardless of condition as long as it is functionable. Anything you have lying around collecting dust that you have no more need for would be greatly appreciated. Gloves, tabs, arrows, arrow components, field points and fletching would be appreciated and put to very good use. Also in need of some type of fletching jig. May possibly be able to help out with shipping if necessary. Thanks and may GOD bless you. Feel free to contact me at 252 229 3116 Paul

Brother I wish I had a way to help! I'll send prayers in hopes of finding what you need. It's cool to see people turning negatives into positives.   :notworthy:
Just one more step please!

There is a great article in trad hunter mag on building kids bows out of pvc piping.  Could be a good idea for the 13 and 14 year olds.

Paul,

I belong to an archery club who work with the seeing impaired children in our area and it is an awesome blessing. We might have a few bows and arrows we can send you. Give me a few days to get a hold of the council and I will get back with you on what we can send you!

I am a member of Compton Traditional Bowhunters.  If you are not familiar with them, do a search for them on the internet.  They are a nationwide club.  They have a special interest in helping clubs or individuals who are teaching youth about archery.  They even help provide funding for some youth programs.  Get in touch with them, they may be able to help you out.
