thanks, everyone. Got back late last evening.
I'd heard how the "cost of living" was so cheap out there, but gas is $.30/gal more than here, and housing was tough. Lots of homes for sale... but folks can't float the 20% down money even with good credit...so they sit. and the rental houses I'd hoped to get, were pretty slim, pretty darn gnarly and pretty darn pricey! Seller's market as it were.
A lot of folks here stepped up, emailed their friends out there who emailed me and their friends. I had a lot of prayers and real-time help.
One agency realtor contacted sellers whose houses weren't moving and 2 opted to rent for a year... I was averse to anything in a "development" but this woman kept asking me to see a "condo"... assuring me it was "different" than some.
After a bunch of very tacky places, I agreed. It is beautiful...and I felt God's nudge on this one. An elderly couple bought the condo 3 years ago and her health crashed so they moved to the Carolinas to be near one daughter... and they can't sell.
they have a large mortgage payment, so they agreed to rent to me for a reasonable amount to lessen their burden for a year.
It's a wonderful place. Not the country setting with place to shoot, but a very, very nice abode with many features I could only dream about. I sense God's hand in this... helping them and helping me. I'm in a quiet country setting in Beaver County, PA with a Beaver, PA address.
I hope it's a blessing to us both. It's way more than I anticipated paying, but then reality has its own final say in life!
I have no snow to shovel, yard to mow, etc. I can focus on the job 100% and have a very nice place to live and entertain friends I hope to make and current ones come visit!
Thanks for the many prayers. I have a ton of work to do sorting and deciding what to do and take...moving company rep comes Tuesday to tell me what they will take and won't...what they'll pack etc... gonna get busy quick!
Thanks for all the leads, prayers, emails, etc.
I've come to rely heavily on this place as my "community" of believers! You/we never know how many we might touch...
Keep the Son in your eyes!
