Praise the Lord!
« on: February 04, 2009, 06:57:00 PM »
Last year in one day I was told they were coming to take my truck and my home. Through many friends I met due to shared archery interests I avoided that situation. At one point I was so down I had planned my suicide. After the outpouring of help I received I promised that I would help if I could ever "pay it forward."
I interviewed for a permanent job just before Christmas that would let me avoid being at the mercy of the temp agencies. I expected to start the week following but had heard nothing. I prayed today that I would hear from the job soon so I could try to help a gentleman on another site that has just lost his home. Believe it or not they called this afternoon and I start on Friday. I know many have prayed for me and believe me I have been praying for all in need whether it was a spoken request or not. Thanks to all of you. Prayer is powerful.

Glad to see you wanted to "pay it forward". We can all learn from that philosophy.

I'm so happy to hear how the Lord has blessed you, George.

More proof that God answers our prayers always, but in His time, not ours! Thank you for your generous sharing and candor, George. Your news makes my heart soar like the hawk!  :)

Just to elaborate a little further. Doc Nock in God's time is correct. As I watched my unemployment bank dwindle I changed my prayers from send me a job today to just let me have a job before my benefits run out. I waited as I used all of my regular benefits then the extentions. Well I claimed the last of my benefits last Sunday and am starting work this week. I just need to trust in God more. He hasn't let me down yet.

Praise God! May we all be blessed to learn what He has to teach us and grow because of it.
Here's something that the Spirit taught me in one of my hard to come by quiet times.

"I so agree with praying God's will. He IS Love not just loving. He IS Truth not just truthful. He IS Righteousness not just righteous. He IS The Way not just someone to lead. He IS Goodness not just good. That's why He said His name was I AM. He is the living source. If we crave something and try to fill that with things we may feel good for a moment but He is saying He IS the fulfillment of every desire of our heart.
I find when I focus on letting His will flow through me in prayer I am filled with an overwhelming joy. The only thing I can relate it to is "Out of their bellies will flow Living Water" (God's Spirit Himself)."
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Praise God, He is good and answers our prayers in His time. I have been out of work since November and cannot draw unemployment because I was working 1099 contract, but I had stuff to sell, so have been gettin buy. I too am praying he will just supply a job before I am destitute. I do not want to loose my home, but if I have to move so be it. It is His will not mine that I live by. Thank you for sharing. It encourages me to see God working in other peoples lives.
"Then Peter said unto them. Repent all of you and be baptized in the Name of Jesus for remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:38

We have many brothers (and sisters?) who have lamented here in this or Pow Wow, their unemployment woes over the past months.

My heart aches because so many never came back to share where they are today, or yesterday.

We want to remember our heros in armed conflict and rightfully so, we wish to remember those who paid the supreme price on 9/11/01.  How too, should we and can we remember all who've come here and those among our brotherhood who have NOT shared...but are on the doorstep of total heartbreak?

In reading "Authentic Faith" recently, there is much the author shares about suffering building character, but so many times, religious institutions, meaning well, but misguidedly, assume and presume, even profess, that if one is not blessed financially or with good health, there is somthing amiss tween them and God.

That is not biblical as the "Authentic Faith" author researches and reports.  Many of our biblical and worlds greatest spiritual figures have suffered immensely and prolonged, but it brought them closer to God and His work.

I find I'm struggling with how, amidst month 8 of my own unemployment, and a job hiring that ran amuck at the last moment, to know how to reach out to others, and yet hold myself together.

These are tough times.  May God grant us all insight that its not punishment, it is but a challenge laid before us by a fallen world! Not of God's doing, but He will not forsake us.

Now help an ole fart off his soapbox afore I fall and break a hip!  :)

For a long time I was very succesful in my job and was riding high so to speak. But the last 18-19 months I have struggled and at times felt I was being punished. What I have come to believe is that God wanted me to see the other side of the fence. I was always good at the "hang in there's and the warm fuzzies" but I didn't act when at times I could have. I am truly sorry for this and now that I am returning to work I resolve to try to do better for my fellow man when I am back on my feet.

Glad things are working out for you. God is great. Sometimes He answers our prayers when we pray for others. I know you've been praying for nut. Thank you.

WE are blessed so that we can be a blessing to others.  If we hold on to all the blessing for ourselves we sin against those we were meant to bless.  This site is filled with blessings.

Praise God for your answered prayers, Benha.

Nakohe,

Your faith is amazing given your adversity. Don't despair, God is working in your life too. We just never know why we must go through the valleys in life and how long we will be there before we learn His plan.

I will continue to pray for you both.

God Bless.
