Tears of joy are shared for Adler and his family.

Thank you, Jesus!

Adler just let his mom know that his hair was falling out so now he's hawkless but shiny. He is also watching some of the changes to his body that are happening. He will look at himself in the mirror and sometimes giggle and sometimes just look. Tough kid with a strong heart. He helps me keep things in perspective.
Thanks for the continued prayers.

Kids. If we were all as resilient and tough as the children we think we protect. There was a reason Jesus asked to have them come to him... He knew!  :)

I'm glad He's a LOT older than I am so I'm still a kid to Him.

Adler getting into the text round of chemo which is even tougher on them because the cancer is in remission. But the Drs say he has to go through all 5 stages to be sure it's totally gone. Here's the latest update from Adler's dad. As always thank you for your prayers.

We were warned about that 8:30 am appointment turning into an all day affair. Thanks Kris! We checked in at 8:30 this morning and did not leave the hospital until 2:45. Welcome to clinic days with infusion. Thankfully, the nurses, doctors, social workers, and children's cancer fund folks have become another family. I think days like today could be really bad if the people at UNMH were not so darn nice.

Today we had a resident do Adler's spinal tap under the supervision of our doctor. Fortunately, they do teach these new or soon to be doctors something. I have concluded that it isn't the University of Nothing Much. He did a great job. All in all today went well. Adler is handeling the chemo ok tonight.

Speaking of chemo, Adler's doctors and nurses said this next round, which he started today would really kick his bum. I guess it really affects blood counts. We humbly ask that you all pray for strength for Adler and that God would continue this miracle of strength and healing. We also send out a reminder to pray for the doctors, nurses and support staff at your local hospitals.

I know a month ago as I looked out the window of the hospital from the 6th floor watching cars zoom by on the street below that I never gave it a second thought about what families were going through in that building as I passed by. I have vowed to say a quick prayer each time I pass a hospital. So many people hurting, and as we found out, so many without brothers and sisters in Christ praying for them. Which is why we continue to lift you up in prayer. We thank God for you and your faithfulness.
God is GOOD!!!
Tomorrow Anna will return with her posts. Much love to each of you.

What a loving, neat family. Benson, praises and thanks for sharing their experience with us.

I am humbled by his challenge to pray for the medical staff. I've been thumb wrestling the staff at Dad's nursing facilty so much, I forget to try to pray for them. I've grown far too protective amidst the ongoing mis-steps and forgot to's.  :(

Forgive me my narrow-minded single purposeness, Lord, and keep these over-worked, often neglected care-givers in your Grace and Protection. Amen.

Special prayers for Adler to again shock the medical community with the Lord's protection and healing touch through this next stage of treatments. May this fine lad keep strong.

Thanks David. I too struggle to pray for those who are difficult and I add myself to your prayer.

Looks like this batch of chemo is tough on Adler.

Adler has been under the weather most of today. He has felt nauseated, and he has had a pretty bad headache. He threw up once this afternoon, and he hasn't had much of an appetite. Fortunately, he has slept a lot. He still had enough energy tonight to beat me at a game of UNO... The nurse came and gave him his chemo while Ethan and I were at church--Jeff said he slept through most of it. Tomorrow evening is the last dose of this type of chemo...until Thursday when we start the four day process again. He is also getting chemo every night in the form of a pill--he gets that medication for the first fourteen days of the consolidation phase. Only 10 more days to go! Tonight at church we sang about God being the "defender of the weak." Weak adequately describes Adler's physical condition, but it brings me a lot of comfort knowing God will help him fight his cancer every step of the way. Strength definitely will rise as we "wait upon the Lord"!

We must continue to thank God for the work He has done and for the work that He will continue to do in the future. I wonder who will or has been touched by this ordeal that you and your family are going thru. I was brought to Christ by the cancer of a lady that I met while working in the EMS around 25 years ago. She lost her battle with the stuff (pickles) but she won eternal life with our Father. I won eternal life thru what she showed forth in her battle. We both won after it was all said and done. Thank God. I am still praying for ya'll. Dusty

Benson, these posts from this amazing family always humble me to read and bring a tear. They seem to be where I would like to be in my walk of faith.

Prayers continue for them all to stand in the armour of God through this ordeal and prayers for strength and peace for Adler and His will to be done and accepted by all.

Dear Lord please grant peace & healing comfort to this young man & his family. Be also with Scott as he constructs his health again. Lead them all with your reassurance and guidance.
