House burns down
« on: July 12, 2010, 08:32:00 PM »
I was at a wedding with my wife. My daughter was waiting for my sister to pick her up for the day.

She checked the house to make sure it was all closed and locked. Headed for the door and turned around just because.....

Saw smoke coming from A chair.

Now this is the WOW part.

We have skylights and the sun was coming in and shining on a light with a magnafiing glass in the middle the wife uses to pull slivers from my hands when I work on bows and such.

It has been there 10 yrs and must have been just perfect to start the chair on fire.

That chair was in our basement (as a soon to be present for the wife)  when the sump went bad Christmas eav and flooded our basement 2yrs ago.
That is something I wish not to go through again.

I am thinking that chair is the problem and needs to go.

Just wrote this as a warning to others that CRAZY thing can happen.

I feel so blessed that for whatever reson my child took one last look and saw the smoke from the chair. She was able to put it out with only minor damage. Things could have been VERY bad......

PLEASE be careful.

Tim

We had our house burn and the only we still have a house is  because my little sister had to use the bathroom and went home and found it on fire and got the fire department there. Just be thankful that God protects us.

Thanks guys.

I am trying to get the wife to get rid of the cursed chair.

I am VERY glad she had that nudge and turned around.

That was a freak thing and a person needs to count the blessing each day.

god truly does look out for us all, just as he did your famiy. i lived outside his will for 28 years, did things i'm ashamed to admitt, and if it were not for him i wouldn't be here writing this. i always joke and say, i'm here because he takes care of fools and idiots. his love is greater than we could ever imagine. i'm very happy everything was saved.
