Prayers for my Brother
« on: November 20, 2010, 09:15:00 AM »
Hi friends, if you get a minute, please talk to the Lord about my Brother. Below is a copy of a message my Sister-in-law sent me and my Sister:

We wanted to let you all know that Ronald is having some health issues right now. He went to bed last night with a mild headache and sore, stiff neck and woke up this morning with the left side of his face paralyzed. I called the dr and she said to rush him to the ER, which I did, and they called a stroke code on him.

After a CT scan, x-rays, etc, they did determine that it was NOT a stroke but that he does have Bell's Palsy. Due to the paralyzation, he is unable to close or blink his left eye, he has no movement in his cheek, lips or facial muscles on that side of his face so it does cause problems with his speech, eating and drinking. He will have to sleep with an eye patch and keep drops in it to keep it from drying out or forming ulcers since he cannot close or blink it. He's not in any pain at this time other than an occasional mild pain behind his left ear.

They said it usually goes away within a few months but in some cases never so they could not tell us what the outcome is. They did start him on a 12 day series of steroids and right now we just have to wait and see. He is to do a follow up with his family dr in about a week.

We are both very concerned and it is stressful for him as he is having to learn to do things a little differently to adapt so your prayers are appreciated.

Prayers for God's loving kindness, healing, strength, and comfort bought for all of us through the tortured death and resurrection of Jesus.
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

Prayers for complete restoration

Prayers for healing.  Bells Palsy can be nasty to deal with, but most of the time it resolves itself with no residual deficit.

God Bless.

Thanks for all the Prayers for my brother.

He still can't close his eye and that's bugging the snot outa him!
He said he feels it's getting a tiny bit better each day, but it's not going nearly fast enough to suit him!

Please continue praying for him!

Bobby, a couple of years ago, my wife got Bells-Palsey. She would sit on the couch watching TV with a damp washcloth, eyedrops, and a drool cloth. She would catch me looking at her.....I mean, we been married 34 years, I love her morn life itself.....but sheesh....it wigged me out! Anyway we were able to see the lighter side of the whole thing, and time took care of the BP. I will pray for your brother.
