Bob Lee 1-Piece Recurve
« on: December 20, 2007, 04:04:00 PM »
I currently own a Bob Lee TD recurve (60"/44@28) but would like to buy a his one piece recurve.  I draw about 28 1/4" and think the new 54" dark archer may give me finger pinch.  I just found out (from Sandy at Bob Lee) he is now making the dark archer in 58"/60".  Can current owners of these bows give me their thoughts on how the 54"/58"/60" one piece recurves perform and how they would compare to the take-down recurve.  Whatever information is provided will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey Moon, I currently own a Bob Lee 54" Signature Hunter. The only bow I have to compare it to is my 1963 K-mag. Forty-some years has givin the Lee some technology to work with.  It is fast and reasonably quiet. I shoot Grizzly stick Alaskans with the brass adaptors and screw in Woodsmans. They fly great and hit very hard.  I am purchasing a takedown right now to see what that is all about . I really like the one piece but it does not travel well. While I am reflecting , that Kodiak Mag must have been quite the revalation in it's day! Mine still shoots with authority and in all truth, for a forty year difference, I can't really justify the expense of the Bob Lee(or any other one piece, for that matter)Try some different handle styles before you by and get the one that's right for you, as I believe that there are a lot of compairable bows in this range(performance wise) Oh yes, the finger pinch. None at a hair over 28" on my Bob. Please don't hear me saying that I don't like the Bob, Ijust probobly should have went to the T/D 'cause the K-Mag had this class pretty well covered.
