dislocated my shoulder...
« on: July 12, 2011, 06:17:00 PM »
for the 21st time!!! The docs say I have a rare form of hyper-flexibility and surgery is not an option and they wont touch me. Archery, contrary to what you might think, has been great therapy. Any hoo.. nine days after my shoulder popped out I was feeling good enough to try drawing my bow and got a respectable 26 inches  :)  3 and half to go to get to my full draw @ 80 # but Im optimistic Ill be ready for bow season. I find the secret is light weight/high repetition weight training. I also saw the biggest baddest buck Ive ever seen in the woods yesterday, for the second time, same place. Im calling him Neptune and his days are officially numbered. His velvet rack is so wide he looks like a long horn steer, and his tines are darn near 18 inches high. Sure gives me something to work for.

Praying for healing
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Not sure where you are in PA, Jason...and now that you told on your big buck, you're not going to say for sure!   :jumper:

Thing is that a buddy of mine had dislocated his shoulder so often after major injury in HS football that a good many years ago, they went in, opened him up, drill holes in his shoulder, threaded his over-stretched tendons thru the holes, tied big knots and stapled the tendons to the back side of his shoulder and then sewed him up. He shot handguns for all that fall, small game and all.

Just seems odd that wherever you are, they won't touch your situation.  I'd be hunting down a 2nd opinion.

Good luck with the rehab! Good luck with that big ole hoss buck!

Prayers for healing and discernment!
