Prayer request.

So where do I begin. I have been married for 5 1/2 years and have 2 beautiful young boys; Dylan 5 and Mason 3 (I put there names out so you inclde them in your prayers.) My wife has decided to leave me for a woman and she has never been more in love etc etc. I am not looking for prayers that we can get back together. I just need prayers for strentgh as I go through this divorce (and not judgement about how it's un-holy etc.) Good things and changes have allreay started in my life due to this. I was rasied a preachers kid (yeah a PK here.) I haven't been to church reguarly in years. I took my kids twice over a year ago and all they've talked about since then is Jesus. I recently started going to a church again a few weeks ago and bringing them (good thing I got them every weekend huh!) I've been told from my boys everything from mommy hates you to mommy put a spell on you. Just please pray for me (Joe) and Dylan and Mason for God's blessings in our lifes, for strentgh and understanding. Thanks.

No judgement here, Joe. Although divorce is not God's plan b/t man and wife, He doesn't condone unfaithfulness of any kind.  Paul believed God allows divorce in these circumstances.  What she has done is not biblical, brother, but you know that.  

I am so sorry for what you and the boys are facing; it is a spiritual battle that will require much prayer and diligence in the Word.  I encourage you to continue in fellowship with other believers in a local church or men's group. Proverbs 14:7 -There is safety in the counsel of many. Seek it immediately with a mature pastor/counselor and others in Christ. Keep those boys in church - and let the pastor & staff and teachers know the situation, in confidence if needed, so they can minister to you/boys more effectively.  Many larger churches have members who work in the legal field - seek legal advice from a Christian perspective.  If none are in your church, speak to the local board of missions or local association office minister for references in that area.  Many times they also employ licenced Christian counselors, too.  Move with haste and Godspeed.  

Father, I ask you to surround Joe and his sons with your protection from evil. Please give them wisdom to see the truth and discernment to recognize the lies from Satan.  Hold them in your arms, so they can rest in your perfect peace, while You work in their lives to keep them safe.  In Your son, Jesus' name we humbly ask.

I will pray not only for you and the boys, but your wife.

God knows her and her pain. Whatever led her down this path, is unknown.  Suffice it to say that there is or has to be a part of her inner self that is hurting and reaching out "in all the wrong places" to find solace.

May God move in her life, bring her and her new found friend to know Him.

You and the boys will be fine.  It's horrific when there are such divergent values and the Christian parent can't get major custody, but that is our permissive world.

You know your path now...back to church, implant the Love of the Lord in those boys and teach them patience and virtue so's not to "dys" their mom in her errant view of life's joys.

God loves us all and we have to try harder to love those around us, even when they seem so far off course. If it were easy, everyone would love one another. That doesn't happen even in many churches so the rest of us frail folks are in large company...not good company, but large.

Keep the Son in your eyes!

Joe, from the start of this thing God was not caught off guard. He didn't say, I didn't see that coming. With that being said He has a plan for you and your boys. He is willing to share that plan with you thru study of His word, Prayer that comes from the heart and from the Praise you sent forth out of your mouth. With all three of these things in tune in your life it will give you clear FOCUS as to what His will is for you and your boys. When God said to give thanks in all things I think that is just what He means for us to do. So thank Him for this trial in your life and pray for wisdom and understanding but most of all for love. Lord I would love to tell you how I would handle this thing but from the start it would not be the right way. God will lead you in the right path and give you direction as to which way to turn.

Lord, give this brother peace that surpasses all understanding in all areas of his life. Give him calmness to see your hand in every area of his life. Lord also open the eyes of his wife so that she too can see where this road will take her. Lord I thank you for this site where we can pour out our hearts and share our needs, hurts and problems and that others will take up our cause to help us stand against the "Firey Darts" that the evil one throws at us. Father we give you all the praise and glory in this and ask it in Your name, Amen.......Dusty
