Memorial Day Prayers
« on: May 25, 2012, 05:52:00 AM »
While we are all enjoying our backyards, grills, and pools, please let's not forget those who have and currently are fighting for our way of life and freedoms.  To all of those who protect us both here and abroad, please dear God, bless and protect them.  To those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, please dear God, grant them a seat at your table in the kingdom of Heaven.  To their families, give them the strength and blessings to continue on.

Amen and prayers for the families
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

When the honor guard of old gents in dress uniforms saluted my Dad's coffin last month as it was pulled from the hearse, I almost bawled uncontrollably.

I thought about it.  I think it was as much about what has happened to change this great country to the point where we're teetering on the brink of self-destruction...and realizing how many have fought and died, been maimed and came home emotionally scarred to never be the same for "God and Country".

To see what sacrifice has been made to be so abused and diluted today brought more tears than just my Dad's passing.

I echo the prayers for blessings on all our troops, those past and present and all who have paid an extreme price for our freedom--and for their families.

Lord, In YOUR Mercy... hear our prayers.
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!
