Donald Rowan my beloved daddy!
« on: November 16, 2012, 09:21:00 AM »
I sat for hours last night with tears streaming down my face as read all of your post and prayers about my daddy!!! What an amazing group of people you all are! You have made me realize that my Daddy is not gone he is alive in everyone of you! Bless each of you that carry a piece of him with you because you keep his memory alive! Me and my Entire family thank you all!

Uncle Danny, I like Kimber have not been able find that place where I can be at peace with this but after reading your last post I think maybe I know now where to find that connection. I have had my feeders out for awhile but have been unable to go hunting because that is one of the first things I can remember my Daddy teaching me and every year as I sit In my stand I remember all of it and until now couldn't bring myself to go there but I believe that that is where I need to go to get to that place. I thank your for that insight. I think illI find a good tree and spend the day there. T hat is where he put for an entire day the first time he took me hunting because I would not be quite lol.  And remember I love you and keep you in my prayers also.
Again I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for loving the special  man that's was my Daddy!
As I am new to this site I hope I have put this post in a good place for everyone to see it if not I will leave it to the rest of you to pass it on.

May God's peace and comfort be with you as you spend your time out there.

Praying that you find the place you are seeking. I think your thought on going to the woods is a good one. Have some good conversation with your Daddy and God. It is a process and takes a while, but with their help you will get there. Just remember to keep your thoughts on what your dad taught you, including being safe in your tree. God Bless.

Christy, you posted it in the right place- this forum makes me feel closer to him because this is where he loved to be- he loved the fellow hunters here- he loved so many things here and he contributed so much and he also received so much-  One day at a time- I'm here for you.

You bring tears to an old man's eyes reading of your devotion to Don as Father and teacher...

...and you bring a song to my heart that the fog is lifting and you see that the woods, with a bow, was what Don loved so dearly and passed onto each of you who wanted to learn...and is likely where you will reconnect with his memory the strongest!

You, like Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars, will find Obie "Don" Kenobi is with you always, but when you let the Force be with you, in quiet time, Don and God will speak to you.

Go, find peace and bring home joy.

Keep the Son in your eyes...

You can hear many things in the woods. Your heart can hear even more and heal maybe even a little faster with the closeness the woods brings.

Continued prayers to the Rowan family.

Christy,

I did not know your father personally but if you hang around this site long enough you get to know the folks somewhat. When I would see certain bows pop up on the classifieds I would open the thread to see if one of the Rowan's had something to say on it. You get to know what a man likes. It was kinda fun to see how long Don or Dan would keep a bow. Your dad liked the better bows out there and your uncle has has been a blessing to several people on here giving away bows. 2 of my friends are recipients. Rowan's are good people.

I have been reluctant to post very much on your fathers passing. But I am very touched by you, your mother, and Danny's words. I am very sorry you have this loss in your life. My father died 9 years ago. It's tough. I hope you find a place to remember him in peace in the woods.

Christy,

Glad you found this place that Bubba loved so much. He was well thought of here as he was a kind generous man as you well know. Find that tree and he will be with you. He loved you and all of his daughters. Keep him in your heart always. I love you and am always here if you need me. You have my number.

Ms. Christy, I too would like to say that from what I know about your dad for this site was that he was a stand up kind of man. The world is at a loss because he has gone yet heaven has become a better place because of him being there. I think the greatest legacy a man can have is those whom he leaves behind when he leaves this world. His children, family and his friends say a lot about the knid of man he was. From what I have seen on this site and from the comments here your dad will not be forgotten for a long time amongst people who may have never met him are who even spoke a word to him. I am one of those people. He was someone on here whom I would check to see his comments on a matter. You hold onto that legacy and pass it on to your children because we will need them in the future to continue to carry the banner of Christ........Dusty aka Rookie@51
