Prayers Requested
« on: July 09, 2013, 10:18:00 AM »
My Mother just found out that she was born with one Small Kidney, and it has worn out on her. the Regular Kidney is on its way out, and the Dr. put her on a Donor List. She is 68 years old, and I am on the Top of Her Donor List.
I told her I would be a Fool not to offer One of Mine to keep my Mother Alive. She will find out Friday if she really is at Stage 5 with the Regular Kidney, and then we go from there.
The Really Bad Thing about all of this, is we just Lost Her Uncle, My Great Uncle (Basically the Only Grandpa I ever knew) to the same condition! We all watched a Robust 83 year old man dwindle away to nothing but skin and bones before he went to be with the Lord. It was HeartBreaking to say the Least. He and and My Mom were Very Close, and then THIS Happens. Frightening. I just Pray I CAN be a Donor, because it would tear My Heart Out to watch My Mother waste away like My "Grandpa" did. He was doing the Dialysis, pardon the spelling if its wrong, EVERYDAY at the end. He had a weak heart, and they wouldnt even consider a Transplant with him.
My Mom has a Strong Heart and Strong Lungs, so They said she was a Prime Candidate for the Transplant. If I am not able to Donate, its going to be Really rough going, and I Pray to God everyday to Watch Over Us ALL. She is trying to put on a Brave Face, but I can see the Fear in her eyes. Especially with My "Grandpas" Death still so Fresh in Everybodys Minds.
Just a Request, Sign Up to be a Donor if You Can. The Life You Save Just Might Be A Family Member! God Bless All Of TradGang and Your Families!!

Thank You ALL for Your Prayers and Concerns! I would like to say My mother is getting better, but I cant. She has lost the Sight in her Right Eye now, due to the "Through the Roof" Blood Pressure this Kidney Disease is causing. Along with 10 pounds in the past 2 Months.
They are going to the Surgeon Tomorrow to discuss, and possibly install a "Port" that will be under her skin, and on her right collarbone. All the IVs and the Dialysis will be taken care of through the Port now, No More Pin-Cushion IVs in her Arms or the Back of her Hands. YOUCH!!
She is More than a Little Frightened, as is Her Only Son. I feel so Helpless, there is exactly NOTHING I can do! Until the IU Center in Indy OKs her, and I, for possible Kidney Transplant. That still doesnt guarantee I will be able to be the Donor. I am the Closest, I think, to being the right Tissue and Blood Type, BUT that doesnt always mean anything.
God in His Infinite Wisdom and Boundless Love is watching over My Family, and I am SO Thankful for That!! EVERYTHING is in HIS Hands!! I know Jesus said "Do Not Worry" but it sure is hard not to. I mean this Lady is only 68, and is in Perfect Health, other than This and the Damage its Caused! Dont EVER take Your Good Health for Granted!! This has taught me Many, Many things, and some of them arent exactly Pleasant. Life is as Life is, as Gods Will Directs each of Us.
I dont know what Tomorrows Appointment will bring, but her Kidney Doctor wants her on Dialysis ASAP!! Thats a Scary Thought right there. She is Handling it the Best She can, Bless Her Heart, the Loss of Sight in the Right Eye was quite a Blow, because One Minute it was there, and the Next Minute she said "It was like someone had drawn a Curtain across her eye" and she is Blind in that eye. Just That Fast!! It Breaks My Heart, and I am Leaning on the Lord pretty hard at the moment.
I will Keep My Faith in God and Jesus Christ that she will not Suffer, no matter what comes down the pike next. Thankfully, she is in No Pain, None.
Thank You for Caring about My Family and I. I have been a Member here for Several Years, and there truely Are NO BETTER PEOPLE than TradGang People!!

You are a good son, to care so deeply for your mother.

You're correct in that God's in control, but He never promised us that this world would be where we find true happiness or peace, except in surrender to Him.

You seem to have a strong handle on THAT part!

Keep the Son in your eyes. Prayers continue
