Here's the latest from Lucca's mom
"It feels good to be finished with all the treatment. We go tomorrow for a check up. She is still suffering from c-diff so her belly is a mess and gives her a lot of pain. And we have two hearing appointments. She will go in the booth for the last time to confirm the loss she has so she can be fitted for hearing aids ASAP. At this point she has a mild to moderate loss in the high frequency area. She can't hear sounds like sssss, shshsh, ppppp, thththt. So in order for her language to develop correctly she needs the hearing aids. I want her to have as little as possible standing in her way to help her develop normally. This will only insure her language is not affected and delayed greatly. This will be very important when she hits Kindergarten and is learning to read. You have to be able to hear beginning, middle, and ending sounds.
So for now Lucca is well and we are moving forward. Scans will be the next big thing after hearing aids and I will be sure to post on how everything goes. But for now I would like to say thank you. We have made it through a whole year of intense therapy and treatment and we have a happy baby who is still here. She is becoming very fiesty and I think she is not going to take any s**t from anyone. She is starting to give her sister a run for her money. When Verlin and I tell her no or take something away she either gets really made or breaks down sobbing. I can't help but laugh. I probably shouldn't but I'm just so happy to see her "normal". I have said this before but we really appreciate all you all have done for us. You have helped us through this journey and we needed all the help we could get. So thank you!! And Merry Merry Christmas from the Millers!!!! "
