Sorry for your loss. My shooting partner "Abby" is 13 year old arthritic lab. This last year sure has been tough watching her only wanting half the time at the archery range but it's what she lives for even over chasing ducks. It's good to see a new pup is in your future, I'm sure it will be nothing but good times!

It's really tough to lose your family's best friend. At my house, it's just me and my 6 yr old Chocolate Lab and the 16 yr old blind Border Collie mix.
They are both God's best gift to me and I will be a mess for quite awhile when they go to Heaven.
They live the good life, go everywhere with me (will be going to Comptons).
I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm cw
ertain you have many good memories.

Hang in there Wess, its tough, I put my lab down in Sept of 2010 and my Springer in Feb of 2011.  both were 13 1/2.  I really feel for you buddy.  It was probably the hardest thing that I had to go through.  Just take comfort in knowing that he lived a good life.

Thought I'd post an update of my boy Greg vom Slaney Vale (Jase).
He's a year & a half old now & doing great! He's quite a character! He's trained to point, blood track, retrieve & track fur, we have tested together & have passed everything so far! Here are a few pic's!

Winter time snowshoeing

Goose hunting

Some rabbit & grouse!

Duck hunting!

Fishing partner!

Blood tracking

Hunt tests

Not to mention he's a fantastic family member loved by all!

Jase is a great looking Dog. It looks like the two of you are getting along great. I love the breed.

I am happy for you and your family!
Relax,

You'll live longer!

All Dogs go to heaven...we should be so lucky

Glad things are smoothing out.  Grief is a process, not an event!

Happy Trails with your new friend...
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!
